Owner, Designer, Carpenter
Hanford Cabinet & Woodworking’s founder, Steve Hanford, grew up working alongside his dad in their complete woodworking shop. Steve learned to appreciate the medium of wood from his father, a college trained woodworking instructor. When Steve grew older, he turned to his woodworking roots when it came time to make a life decision. Steve simply opted to purchase an existing cabinet shop instead of pursuing his PhD in Botany. His knowledge and background in wood technology and forestry has proven to be indispensable when it comes to handling the more difficult and unusual jobs. Steve’s talent, both natural and trained, has turned Hanford Cabinet & Woodworking into the reputable Connecticut business it is today. Steve’s functional design philosophy is evident in his great design staff, who work as a team to make your project shine. Steve has been published many times in magazines like Connecticut Magazine and Better Homes & Gardens.
Award winning designer Beth Veillette designs to the client’s taste while providing them with ideas and options. She always begins with designing the best possible floor plan, then goes on to guide the client through the finishes and styling options that are available to compliment their home and reflect their own personal style. Kitchens designed by Beth have graced the cover and pages of several kitchen & bath industry trade magazines and some of the most recognizable consumer magazines including American Homestyle & Gardening, Better Homes & Gardens Kitchen Planning Guide, and American Homestyle & Gardening Kitchen & Bath Custom Planner. Beth was a first place winner in the national 1998 NKBA design competition as well as garnering a regional award from Sub-Zero freezer Company. Beth is a member of the National Kitchen and bath Association (NKBA). Beth has recently published a book as well. “Kitchen Ideas That Work” includes design advice for kitchens and budgets from small to large. Throughout the book you’ll find design options for all components found in the kitchen as well as how to successfully combine them to create a great kitchen. A wide range of styles, materials, and layouts are featured in hundreds of photos that provide fresh ideas for everything from the floor material to wall color, lighting to seating, and appliances to window treatments.

She also brings another creative perspective to the marketing table along with Sarah who photographs our finished work and puts her knowledge of graphics to work for us.
